After learning that Orochimaru died at the hands of Sasuke, alongside his existing hatred for Itachi, Deidara decided to eliminate Sasuke and prove that his ninjutsu could beat a member of the Uchiha clan. During the battle, Sasuke realized that his lightning element canceled out the effects of Deidara's clay bombs, causing all of Deidara's techniques to become duds.
Deidara used his ultimate triumph card and sacrificed himself through an explosion in a last ditch bid to take down Sasuke, but because Sasuke absorbed Orochimaru, he was able to escape by summoning Manda. This was the first time Sasuke showcased Chidori , a technique created by Kakashi. The lightning-style jutsu was so strong it broke through Gaara's absolute defense, his Shield of Sand. Sakura and Kakashi were also spared and Sasuke made it clear that they were only protected due to the fact they were standing near him when the Infinite Tsukuyomi was cast.
Although initially dismissing their capability to help, Team 7 was back together once more and saved the world from total destruction. When Naruto attempted to bring Sasuke back to Konoha and stop him from joining Orochimaru, Sasuke was too blinded by his obsession with revenge to listen.

Orochimaru accepts Sai, believing him to be without ulterior motives, unaware of his real mission.
On the way to his hidden base, Orochimaru discusses with Kabuto how they're being trailed and need a distraction to slow the Konoha ninjas. That distraction winds up being Sai. As Team 7 trails Orochimaru, they come across the horrifying sight of a dead Sai. It startles them at first, but they quickly realize that it was one of Kabuto's cadavers that he made look like Sai. Sasuke pushes Danzo to the brink, so the old man takes Karin as a hostage.
Sakura enters the scene proclaiming she'll join Sasuke, so he challenges her devotion demanding she finish off Karin who is barely alive. Sakura aims to kill him instead, but she doesn't realize that Sasuke is not in his right mind and that she can't kill the man she still loves. As she pushes herself to end Sasuke, she fails to realize that he's already prepared to strike her down. If it weren't for Kakashi coming in to save her, Sakura would've been murdered. When Gaara arrived in time to save Rock Lee from Kimimaro, he was in for one heck of a fight.
Kimimaro is arguably one of the strongest fighters thanks to his powerful bloodline trait of using his bones in battle. In the end, it appeared as though Gaara had won, cementing the battlefield with heavy sand, but Kimimaro escaped when the heroes' guards were down and came close to ending Gaara with one final strike. Wouldn't the Orochi inside Sasuke's soul just go crazy the moment the outer Orochi does some wierd juju vodo stuff to Sasuke's body to wake the Orochi inside up from the sleep?
